From the backhills of Kentucky to the CA Coast, Stacy has been a performer most of her life. Stacy was introduced to the stage as a young dancer, meriting scholarships to SF Ballet, with later expansion into Jazz and African dancing. Translating music into dance, provided a broad base for a musical ear.
Stacy began playing guitar and writing as a teen, following in her older brothers footsteps. She later performed extensively throughout Northern CA for 10 years, as a duo with her playing partner and in multiple incarnations of various bands including, the Zigger Damn Bony Band, City Boy Country Girl, Cool Coyote and Distant Rail. This performing experience ranged from coffee houses to honky tonk bars, fine restaurants, mountain retreats, auditoriums and festivals. Being a writer by nature, and writing extensive poetry throughout her life, it naturally cumulated into songwriting over the years. A parting of the ways with her partner propelled her deeper into songwriting and performing solo.
Stacy's picking style has developed uniquely as she utilizes several alternative tunings, giving her an often haunting effect in her songs. She combines a strong playing style with evocative songwriting and vocals, that can be both deep and powerful, or tender and lilting. Her songs radiate raw emotion, humor, tenderness, grit, passion, reverence and irreverence combined. She traverses the genre's of Folk, Cross Country, Alternative and Americana, fluidly into her own unique signature style.
